A training plan is only a guide; it should just be another tool to get you from point A to point B. It is important to know when to hold back and when to push ahead. Remember when you train you work your muscles to prepare for healing, don’t be afraid to take a day off if your strength or motivation is just not there. While resting the body is busy rebuilding damaged muscle, so technically speaking, proper resting will make you stronger.
It is important to learn to listen to your body; know what the difference is between fatigue and laziness. Pushing yourself when fatigue sets in will eventually lead to injury but pushing oneself when your just plain lazy will make you stronger, hence the overused phase “No Pain, No Gain”
- Follow your training plan exactly as it is written
- Quit crying, the hard work will make you stronger
- Sleep in, relax, take it easy
