Runcast Weekly #19: Running 101 Revisited, The Best Run of Your Life, Listener Email

The essential thing in life is not so much conquering as fighting well
-Baron de Coubertin, founder of the modern Olympic Games

Running 101 always deserved much more detail than was originally included. This week we revisit that first podcast and fill in the blanks from that maiden voyage. After putting together this latest podcast I realize that Running 101 can never be complete. It will be continually evolving and from time to time it will be revisited.

I omitted one segment from RCW #18. I asked Matt Carpenter to record a “Best Run of Your Life” segment and he obliged. You will not be disappointed by this one.

Finally, listener Laura submitted a question via the comments page of the website. It took some digging but I believe I may have answered her question. I have found a very useful tool for those that enjoy a bit of audio accompaniment on their runs.

“The Best Run of your Life” was a direct result of the suggestion made on the message board. Thank you Racer16 for that show suggestion and thank you Matt Carpenter for this weeks submission.

How “The Best Run of Your Life Works”
  1. Anyone can make a submission
  2. Call the Runcast Weekly Hotline by using any phone at (210)249-0463 or via Gizmo Project
  3. Leave a message
That’s it. That’s all it takes to be a part of the show. Of course you can also use the Runcast Weekly Hotline to leave any type of message for the show. Record a race report, make a suggestion, tell how much you like or dislike the show, or even record your own segment. It’s up to you, you are in control, but remember that any message left on the voicemail may be used on the podcast.2

This episode of Runcast Weekly was brought to you in part by Vitruvian Running shoes. If you would like to support the show there is an incredible opportunity on ebay. I am auctioning a large banner ad on the RCW website. You can find the auction here.

Thank you to cjacks and their song "Mohave Metro" which has now become the intro music for Runcast Weekly. You can find out more about cjacks at the podsafe music network at music.podshow.com.

I would like to thank everyone that has voted for the podcast on podcastalley.com. We are now at #13 thanks to all that have voted. If you haven’t yet voted and you have enjoyed the show, please vote for the podcast. It’s quick and easy. Finally, I would like to thank Snowjo15 and NuOrder who each gave the podcast excellent reviews on iTunes. Honestly, I didn’t even know that you could rate podcast on iTunes until I heard it on a program. I quickly checked the Runcast Weekly page when I learned of this was very surprised and appreciative of what I found. Thank you everyone that has taken the time to vote for the podcast.

Until next episode,

Treat every goal like it was your last and you will never have an issue with motivation.
